Blue nuno felted wrap, scarf with dragonflies, OOAK
$170.00
Blue nuno felted wrap, scarf, with dragonflies hand made by using wet felting process from extra fine merino wool roving , margilan silk, different fabric pieces, yarn, viscose fiber, angelina fiber, wool nepps, silk hankies, OOAK.
In the wet felting process, hot water and soap are applied to layers of wool roving, while repeated agitation and compression causes the fibers to hook together or weave together into a single piece of fabric. Felt from wool is considered to be the oldest known textile.
Nuno felting is the process of felting wool roving into another fabric (silk). "Nuno" is a Japanese word for cloth or fabric. I used margilan silk gauze rarefied.
The scarf is lightweight, warm and soft. With different silk pieces I create dragonflies and butterflies and felted with wool. This is unique and one of the kind piece.
This design works with your wardrobe throughout the year. The scarf can be worn in many different ways: as scarf, shawl, neck warmer.. The universal scarf perfect accessory for any special occasion.
Measures: length 82"(210cm) without fringe, width 14" (36cm) approx.

Care instruction:
Wool is a unique organic fiber and has a self-cleaning ability but you can wash scarf when it necessary.
To keep the scarf beautiful, you hand wash it in in slightly warm water (30C 86F) with hair shampoo and delicate garment detergent (such as Woolite). Soak scarf in warm water than raise it carefully without shaking it. Do not change the water temperature when you rinse out the soap. (If you wash it in hot water the item may shrink further), squeeze the water out (wrap it up into a towel). Reshape with hands while damp. Do not tumble dry. lay flat to dry.
