This material is produced in Uzbekistan in the city of Margilan.

It is easy to color, lightweight and elegant, with a natural brilliant pearl shine. Magilan silk is ideal for nunofelting keeping its pearl shine.

Margilan silk gauze is more shiny then Chinese silk gauze, as a result you can create beautiful texture with more luster and light weight.

It's looks fabulous in nuno felted projects great for scarfs, décor and more... many variations to use this silk in nuno felting and felting, you can create your own textile.

Width of silk: 18 inches (45cm) approx.

Silk density 15-16 g/sq meter (1 momme 4.34 - grams per square meter)

Margilan silk gauze has more density and little thicker compare to other Margilan silk gauze reified or sparse gauze and can create more texture in felted projects.

IMPORTANT! Margilan silk is made by hand and has irregularities (can be lines, uneven thickness), - sometimes less, sometimes more. This silk work best for nunofelting and I sell it for nunofelting if you buying silk for the different purpose keep in mind that it will be some irregularities. Please don't buy this silk if you need perfect uniform weave.
